About The Balmayna

The Balmayna is a luxury wedding and events venue in Bolton, creating unforgettable celebrations through stunning spaces, exceptional service, entertainment and memorable guest experiences. We are looking for a creative, confident and highly motivated Content Creator to join our team and help bring The Balmayna to life across our digital platforms.

The Role

As our Content Creator, you will be responsible for producing engaging, high-quality video content across The Balmayna's social media and digital platforms. You'll work closely with our Marketing, Events and Venue teams to capture everything from weddings and venue transformations to behind-the-scenes moments, promotional campaigns and trend-led social content.

You'll have the opportunity to develop ideas, direct shoots and experiment with new formats while ensuring everything produced reflects The Balmayna brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Film and edit engaging Reels for Instagram and Facebook
• Develop, direct, film and edit TikTok content
• Manage end-to-end video projects, from ideation and storyboarding through to filming, editing and final delivery
• Create engaging video content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, websites and other digital platforms
• Capture weddings, events, venue transformations, décor, entertainment, food and behind-the-scenes content
• Develop creative concepts and turn ideas into finished videos
• Direct team members, presenters and other contributors confidently during content shoots
• Edit short-form content with strong pacing, storytelling, music, sound design, captions and transitions
• Repurpose footage into multiple pieces of content suitable for different platforms
• Work alongside the wider group marketing team to plan upcoming content and campaigns
• Organise and manage video footage and project files effectively
• Maintain a consistent standard and visual identity across all content
• Stay ahead of social media trends and identify opportunities relevant to The Balmayna
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI-powered creative tools, and identify ways they can improve our content and video workflows
• Review content performance and use insights to continuously improve future videos

What We're Looking For

We're not simply looking for someone who knows how to operate a camera. You need to understand what makes content interesting and what makes someone stop scrolling, watch and engage. You should be comfortable taking ownership of a piece of content — coming up with the idea, planning it, directing it, filming it and turning it into a polished final video. You should also be comfortable directing other people in front of the camera.

Skills & Experience

• Experience filming and editing video content
• A strong understanding of Instagram Reels and TikTok
• Understanding of short-form storytelling, hooks, pacing and audience retention
• Confident using professional cameras and video equipment
• Proficient with professional video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or equivalent
• Good understanding of lighting, audio, composition and camera movement
• Confident communicating, directing and working with different people
• Strong creative instincts and the ability to generate original content ideas
• Organised and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently while also contributing as part of a wider team
• Willing to learn, experiment and adapt as social platforms and technology evolve

Experience within weddings, events, hospitality, luxury brands or social-first content creation would be advantageous, but is not essential.

• Responsible when handling company cameras, equipment, footage and other assets

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with ideas, personality and creative ambition. You should genuinely enjoy creating content and be excited by the challenge of finding new ways to showcase weddings, events and experiences.

We want someone who follows what's happening across TikTok, Instagram and the wider creative industry — but also understands that great content isn't simply about copying trends. You should be able to take inspiration from what's working and adapt it into something that feels original and appropriate for The Balmayna.
